Summary
Digital ortho imagery (DOI) serve a variety of purposes, from interim maps to field references for investigations and analysis. The DOI is useful as a layer of a geographic information system and as a tool for revision of topographic maps.
Description
A digital orthophoto is a computer compatible aerial photo that has been geometrically corrected for displacement caused by terrain and relief. Orthophotos combine the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. The digital orthophoto in this block is a 30cm ground resolution and is in the Universal Transverse Mercator Projection (UTM), Zone 14, on the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83).
